I'm delighted to be "in the pit" again with the amazing shadow puppet theater company Manual Cinema. (Chicago Q Ensemble joined them for the show Fjords in 2012.) This time, I'm part of a local Chicago run of their show, My Soul's Shadow.
Shows are November 6, 7, and 8 at Mana Contemporary in Pilsen. More details here!
I'm so pleased to have connected with dancer Jessica Marasa, a fellow meditator who's curating a series of Buddhist-informed performances at Links Hall. It's tricky to describe what Jessica is doing with the series, but since I will be joined by amazing clarinetist and improviser James Falzone in this performance, that's reason enough to come!
My six-month collaboration with the amazing composer and percussionist Sam Scranton will come to fruition at the Omaha Under the Radar Festival. Our piece, MIMIC, is for percussion, vocals, electronics, and tabletop violin. MIMIC places us across from each other at a low table -- an intimate, occult, timbrally detailed face-off. We play at the House of Loom on the festival's Thursday night. Check the link above for tickets. Can't wait to share this new work!
Chicago Q Ensemble, joined by guest pianist Kathy Lee, performs Brahms' amazing G minor Piano Quartet alongside strings-only movements from W.A. Mozart and Andrew Norman. This is our first time at the beautiful Stevenson Performing Arts Center. Details at the Chicago Q Ensemble website.
