NO EXIT, which premiered in June 2014, is Chicago Q Ensemble's second interdisciplinary show. It combines the music of W.A. Mozart and Giacinto Scelsi with an abridged version of Sartre's classic existential play, No Exit. Directed by Deirdre Harrison, and developed collaboratively by the ensemble, this production places each of the three musicians in a dual role as musician and actor.

"Are the characters playing music? Are the musicians acting? The answer to both seems to be 'yes.' The artists have embraced a deep vulnerability and their performances -- from the dagger-like stares shot across the stage to the aching emptiness of hte music -- were gutsy and intense. Chicago Q Ensemble and Harrison have created a new concept of musical and dramatic narrative ... and the possibilities appear to be endless." -- Elliot Mandel,
